Iowa St. stuns No. 8 Texas Tech

No. 10 Kansas rallies to beat Baylor; TCU falls at Kansas St.

AMES, Iowa — Freshman Cameron Lard scored 18 points and Iowa State cruised past No. 8 Texas Tech 70-52 on Saturday, its first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Nick Weiler-Babb, Lindell Wigginton and Donovan Jackson each added 13 points for the Cyclones (11-7, 2-5 Big 12), who handed the Red Raiders (15-4, 4-3) their second straight loss to an unranked opponent on the road.

KANSAS 70, BAYLOR 67

Malik Newman scored seven of his game-high 24 points in the closing minutes, the Bears turned the ball over on the final inbounds play, and the No. 10 Jayhawks rallied to beat Baylor in Lawrence, Kan.

Kansas (16-3, 6-1 Big 12) trailed 67-61 with 2:05 to go before Newman went on his scoring binge, giving it the slimmest of leads again. Baylor (12-7, 2-5) had a couple of chances after that, but Manu Lecomte missed a 3-pointer and his layup attempt high off the glass with three seconds left was no good.

KANSAS ST. 73, TCU 68

Dean Wade scored 20 points, and the Wildcats beat the 24th-ranked Horned Frogs in Manhattan, Kan.

Vlad Brodziansk­y scored 15 points for TCU (14-5, 2-5 Big 12).

SMU 73, TULANE 62

Shake Milton scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half, and the Mustangs pulled away in the final five minutes to beat the Green Wave in Dallas, improving to 14-6 and 4-3 in the American Athletic Conference.

LAMAR 84, SAM HOUSTON ST. 77

Zjori Bosha made just one shot the whole game, drilling a 3-pointer in the final seconds of overtime as the Cardinals rallied to beat the Bearkats in Beaumont.

Nick Garth finished with a career-best 29 points for Lamar (12-8, 4-3 Southland).

John Dewey III had 18 points for Sam Houston State (11-9, 5-2), which had won five straight previously.

MCNEESE ST. 86 HOUSTON BAPTIST 81

Jarren Greenwood scored 21 points, Kalob Ledoux added 20, and the Cowboys hung on a win overthe Huskies at Sharp Gym.

David Caraher finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds for Houston Baptist (4-16, 0-7 Southland Conference). The Huskies, who have lost nine straight, missed two shots in the final five seconds.

LOUISIANA TECH 69, RICE 54

Jacobi Boykins scored 21 points, and the Bulldogs beat the Owls in Ruston, La.

Connor Cashaw scored 14 points for Rice (4-16, 1-6 Conferece USA).

ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 72 PRAIRIE VIEW A&M 66

Martaveous McKnight scored a career-high 39 points, carrying the Golden Lions past the Panthers in Prairie View.

Gary Blackston scored 27 points for Prairie View A&M (5-15, 2-4 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference).

WILEY 60, ST. THOMAS 57

Joshua Hamilton scored 28 points, and the Wildcats defeated the Celts (9-8, 2-6 Red River Athletic Conference) at Jerabeck Gym.
