HILARY FLORENCE BROWN

1950-2017

Hilary Florence (Jackie) BROWN, of Gasparillo, Trinidad and Tobago, originally of Cypress, Texas, U.S.A. passed away on Sunday, the 31st December 2017, at Lazzari Lands, Phillipine, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, in the home of her sister Eloise and brother-in-law Roger Bertrand. She was the daughter of Norbert Brown Sr. and Florence Brown (both deceased); sister of Jannice Lezama, Marva BrownScheuller (deceased), Norbert Brown Jr., Nadine Pirtheesingh, Eloise Bertrand, RoseLee Mary Brown and Diane Bertrand; sister-in-law of, Ainsley Lezama (deceased), Carlton Scheuller, Jean Brown, Franklin Pirtheesingh, Roger Bertrand and Rollin Bertrand; aunt of thirteen; great-aunt of five; relative of the Browns, the Hem Lees, the Bereaux family, and the Olivers. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, the 5th of January 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help R.C. Church, Harris Promenade, San Fernando thence to the Roodal Cemetery, Broadway, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago.

Prior to living her final six months in Trindad and Tobago, Hilary was a citizen, resident, and registered nurse in Houston for thirty-five years, working at medical facilities in the Spring Branch, Memorial City and Cypress areas. Hilary had many, many coworkers, friends, and church family who adored and loved her (and our kind Hilary equally loved and cared for everyone). In addition to her personal gifts of unwavering friendship and compassion, Hilary was a strong woman of faith and family, calling St. Cecilia Catholic Church her parish home. It was at St. Cecilia that many would experience her God-given talent and passion as one of the finest vocalists anyone could ever hear and call friend. Her voice in music and scripture oratory was angelic, prayerful, soul-filled, and a God-send. Houston was indeed blessed to have her as one of its own for so many years!

A Memorial Mass and reception for the celebration of and thanksgiving for Hilary’s life in Houston, Texas will begin at 6pm on Monday, the 29th of January 2018 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc, Houston, Texas 77024, Father Francis M. Macatangay, Pastor, presiding.
