Firm’s Celebration Breakfast defines Houston luxury market
For the 51st year, John Daugherty, Realtors’ Celebration Breakfast served as a timely market update for top sales of luxury housing in the most prestigious neighborhoods across the Houston area.
Equal parts highenergy pep rally and sentimental salutes both to new and legendary agents, the annual event acknowledged market leaders in the industry.
With the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, 2017 was still a record year for the brokerage, with the most expensive listing represented by Laura Sweeney and Steve Baumgardner, and the most expensive sale by Sabiha Rehmatulla.
Attendees were “played” into the grand ballroom by one of Houston’s most beloved entertainers, Ezra Charles, who kept things lively with his effervescent style.
Founder and chairman John A. Daugherty Jr. and president and CEO Cheri Fama presented the awards.
Special awards of recognition were presented to Employee of the Year Silvia Hernandez, MLS director, recognizing her outstanding work ethic and team spirit, and Department of the Year to Co-Op for working as the go-to team for providing exceptional service to the JDR agents and sellers under manager Homa Botor.
Special agent awards included “Rising Star,” presented to Melissa McAnelly for her significant increase in sales production, growth as a real estate professional and dedicated involvement to the community and charitable activities.
The “Spirit Award” was given to Benjamin Dougharty for his enthusiasm, energy and team spirit while prospering in his career.
Awards of Distinction were presented to Michael Silva, Cathy Cagle and Bill Dodson. Silva received awards for highest number of listings, most closed listing transactions, most closed buyer transactions and most closed total transactions. Cagle was recognized for most outgoing referrals sent and most outgoing referrals closed, while Dodson took honors for highest price closed outgoing referral. Hall of Fame
