Highland Village adds bridesmaids business
Weddington Way, a San Francisco-based online bridesmaid dress shop, has opened inside the Banana Republic at Highland Village, 3922 Westheimer. Weddington Way uses a “virtual showroom” to allow brides and their bridal party — often spread out across various cities — to shop for dresses regardless of their location. Gap owns the Weddington Way and Banana Republic brands.
Aldi plans to open a store in the former Hancock Fabrics at 16701 El Camino Real in the Clear Lake area in early summer. The discount grocer will be at Bay Area Boulevard and El Camino Real, between Kroger and H-E-B. The new southeast Houston location will add to 36 local Aldi stores.
Houston-based Pipeline Realty plans to break ground on Holcombe Plaza, a two-story mixed-use project with 26,000 square feet of medical office and restaurant/retail space at 3525 W. Holcombe. Tenants have not yet been announced, but the company will break ground once building permits are obtained, Pipeline Realty’s Scott Rubenstein said. The location, across from West University Place near the Braes Heights neighborhood, has average household incomes of $202,625 within a 1-mile radius and $146,140 within 3 miles, Pipeline Realty said.
Überrito, a build-your-own burrito chain with five locations in the Houston market, announced a franchise deal to expand across Texas. Ally Lakhpaty and SNL Franchise Development have signed a master franchise agreement to develop locations in the Houston, Austin and San Antonio, including three corporate locations in Houston. The Lakhpaty family, including Mehboob Lakhpaty and sons Ally and Aniq, bring experience in developing the Subway and Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream brands. Überrito is part of Mexican Restaurants, along with Casa Ole, Monterey’s Little Mexico, Tortuga Mexican Kitchen and Crazy Jose.
Urban Air Trampoline & Adventure Park will open a 37,000-square-foot location in the Sam Moon Center in Shenandoah in July, Sam Moon Group announced. The venue at 17943 Interstate 45 will have indoor skydiving and other attractions. Michael Stern with Edge Realty Partners represented the tenant. The Retail Connection’s Steve Greenberg and Kendall Isben represented the landlord. Urban Air will be taking over the space of Sam Moon Shoes and Sam Moon Trading. Sam Moon Trading has moved into the Sam Moon Luggage space.
