Work Well concept picks up on collaboration trend
Houston-based Caldwell Cos. is tapping into the demand for smaller offices and co-working spaces at The Work Well, a new concept unveiled in northwest Houston.
The Work Well occupies 23,000 square feet — the entire third floor — of its office building at 13100 Wortham Center Drive near U.S. 290 and FM 1960.
“Our team saw a shift in the office space market and discovered more professionals were seeking community, collaboration and smaller offices,” president and CEO Fred Caldwell said in an announcement.
The setup blends co-working, which fosters innovation and creativity by working alongside others, with more than 70 private offices that can accommodate from one person to a team of seven. The project contains multiple co-working spaces, private conference rooms, collaboration areas, private phone rooms and a kitchen and coffee bar.
The company is targeting freelancers, business owners, entrepreneurs, designers, lawyers, real estate agents and other businesses in the CypressFairbanks area.
“We’re trying to reach that person who wants to work close to home and not fight the traffic anymore,” said vice president of investments Miranda Hadamik. She said the company is considering expanding The Work Well to other locations.
Prices for collaborative open areas start under $200 a month, while private offices start around $600 per month. Other membership options include virtual offices, day packages and conference room packages.
“We want to give them a great place to work and grow their business instead of worrying about where they’re going to lease office space from,” Hadamik said.
Caldwell Cos. is a real estate services and development firm handling commercial and residential projects.
