Bobbie Jo Jackson “Jo” Putzka, 76, of Palestine, Texas passed peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. She was born to the late Lucille Vess and Johnie B. Jackson on December 21, 1941, in Groveton, Texas. She spent her childhood in Pasadena, Texas and attended Pasadena High School. On June 29, 1957, Jo married the love of her life, Don Putzka. They lived in Pasadena until their retirement when they relocated to live their dream on Seven Oaks Farm in Palestine, Texas. Jo had an extremely successful career with Avon Products beginning in a territory in Pasadena and retiring in management. As a District Manager, she earned the Circle of Excellence award many times. Her leadership skills and compassion equipped her to motivate her sales force to produce at the greatest level. Through her membership in the Texas Cattlemen’s Trail Ride and the Grand Entry Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Jo instilled a love of the rodeo in all of her family. Our Mimi was a truly amazing woman. She taught us with her words and her example even to her death. Her unconditio­nal love, generosity and wise counsel will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Billie Fern Jackson Tafelski. She is survived by Donald Carl Putzka, her husband of 60 years; children Deborah Kay Putzka Touchy and Donna Putzka Donnell and husband, James Marvin Donnell; granddaugh­ter Carlton Anne Putzka Touchy; grandsons Andrew James Donnell, William Carl Donnell, Stephen Tanner Donnell, Thomas Jackson Donnell, and Charles Putzka Donnell; brother, Jay B. Jackson and a niece and nephew.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 24th at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel, 3434 S. Loop 256, Palestine, Texas.
