Elizabeth “Liza” Camarillo entered into rest on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, after a long battle with liver disease. Liza was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School and Sam Houston State University. A long-time teacher in Aldine ISD, she spent her entire 31 year career at Raymond Academy. She was also a 20 year experience­d Boy Scout leader who loved her troop, pack and the scouting program. Wherever she was involved, Liza loved the children, and all of them became “her” kids.

Liza is survived by her husband of 40 years, Armando Camarillo, Jr. ; her sons, Alejandro “A.J.” Camarillo and Miguel Camarillo; her beloved granddaugh­ter Adriana Elizabeth Camarillo; sisters Mary Blanco, Tootsie Rangel, and Janie (Roy) Rodriguez; brothers Cecilio (Alice) Gutierrez and Alfred Gutierrez; mother-in-law Rosario Camarillo, brotherin-law Thomas (Nancy) Camarillo and sister-in-law Laura Camarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecilio and Delfina Gutierrez, brothers Paul and John Gutierrez, and father-inlaw Armando Camarillo, Sr.

Liza’s warm and loving spirit and her enduring friendship will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 5-9pm at Crespo Funeral Home, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:30 am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion St., Houston, TX 77009. Interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
