Esther was born September 3, 1922 in Orange, Texas to Isaac and Hulda Mansur and was raised by her Aunt Minna, three brothers, Herman, Herbert, and Hans. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hull-Daisetta High School. She attended Concordia Lutheran College. She married Clifton Burnaman on September 27, 1947 in Clifton, TX on Clifton’s birthday. He always remembered their anniversar­y!

Esther is survived by daughters Janie Roberts and husband Steve, Betty Hadden. Stepchildr­en Mavis Childers of Houston, Son-in-law Daro Pedrotti. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifton, daughter Rhonda and son Randy, stepson Alton Burnaman, and his son Alton Burnaman, Jr.

Esther is survived by sister in-law Laurine Mansur, and Wilma Sanders; granddaugh­ter Dedra Kolkhorst, grandson Scott Bormann and wife Maria, Kim and Kelly Nalepka, great grandchild­ren Kirbie, Kyle, and Collin. Step grandchild­ren Mike, Tom, and Chuck Childers, and Lisa David of Austin, Step greatgrand­children Daniel and Juliet Childers, Courtney, Kevin, and Kelsey Childers, and Dr. Lauren David and Evan David. Great-great grandchild­ren Giselle Cintron, Eden Rosensteel, and Chloe Stafford, and also numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.

Pallbearer­s include Mike Childers, Tom Childers, Chuck Childers, Steve Roberts, Kurt Kolkhorst, and Scott Bormann. Honorary Pallbearer­s include Daro Pedrotti, Kyle Stafford, Kevin Stafford, David Burnaman, Collin Kolkhorst, and Kyle Kolkhorst.

She was an active and faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Houston, TX for over 50 years. Esther worked at Southweste­rn Bell as PBX operator, and at St. Joseph Hospital also as a PBX operator. She retired from Cargill’s. After retirement, she and Clifton enjoyed their weekend home in Trinity Cove, Trinity, TX. There were many fish fries and games of cards and they shared many wonderful times with family and friends. After Clifton’s death, she moved to the Terrace at Willowbroo­k, and then moved to Brookdale Assisted Living. She was also a long term member at St. Timothy Lutheran Church and was active in the church for many years.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the care staff and nurses at Brookdale Nursing home in Champions, the nursing staff at Grace Care in Cypress, and to hospice care staff at Grace.

Esther’s Celebratio­n of Life Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
