Larry Wade Moore passed from this earth on March 9, 2018. He died surrounded by his loving family.

Larry will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind nature and enduring optimism. His easy smile and thoughtful conversation made all who crossed his path feel special. Larry was a true gentleman and a gentle man.

Larry was an only child, born August 7, 1942 to Prentice and Francis Moore. He earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration from University of Houston and began a 34 year career with Shell Oil Company where the majority of his time was spent in Human Resources. Larry married Maylene Copeland, September 7, 1963. For 54 years their Marriage set a beautiful example that was deeply rooted in faith. Larry gave his unconditional love, wisdom and support to their three children and nine grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of pride.

After retirement Larry and Maylene moved to Rockport, Texas where they spent 15 years enjoying the Texas Coast. Graced with the heart and vision of a natural leader, Larry inherited a strong sense of civic responsibility and commitment to community. He spent numerous hours volunteering for organizations including Stephen Ministries and chairing the Good Samaritans of Rockport. His faith led him to be active in many different areas of the Methodist Church.
