NEW YORK — Kyle Guy, Devon Hall and No. 1 Virginia completed one of the most successful seasons in the storied history of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball, beating No. 12 North Carolina 71-63 in the tournament championsh­ip game Saturday night to finish 20-1 against competitio­n in the ACC.

The Cavaliers (31-2) set a school record for victories and won the ACC Tournament for the second time in five seasons under coach Tony Bennett, and third time overall.

With plenty of their fans packing Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the Cavaliers beat North Carolina (25-10) for the second time this season and snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Tar Heels in ACC Tournament play.

Guy scored 16 points and Hall added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists for Virginia.

BIG EAST

Mikal Bridges scored 25 points and hit two 3-pointers in overtime to lift No. 2 Villanova to a 76-66 win over Providence in the Big East Tournament championsh­ip game at Madison Square Garden.

The Wildcats (30-4) won their second straight Big East Tournament and third in four years. They put the bow on a fantastic season that should have them earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Friars fell to 21-13.

PAC-12

Deandre Ayton had 32 points and 18 rebounds in one of the most dominating performanc­es in Pac-12 Tournament history, leading No. 15 Arizona (27-8) to its second straight title with a 75-61 victory over Southern California (23-11) in Las Vegas.

CONFERENCE USA

In Frisco, Jon Elmore scored 20 of his 27 points after halftime and Marshall (24-10) is going to its first NCAA Tournament since 1987 after a 67-66 win over Western Kentucky in the Conference USA title game.

WESTERN ATHLETIC

In Las Vegas, Zach Lofton scored 21 points and AJ Harris had 20 to help New Mexico State (28-5) win its fifth straight Western Athletic Conference Tournament title with a 72-58 victory over Grand Canyon for conference’ s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

BIG SKY

Michael Oguine scored 21 points and top-seeded Montana (26-7) rallied to win the Big Sky Conference Tournament and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament with an 82-65 victory over Eastern Washington in Reno, Nev.

SOUTHEASTE­RN

Wenyen Gabriel was 7-for-7 on 3s and matched his career high with 23 points, sending Kentucky past Collin Sexton and Alabama 86-63 in the Southeaste­rn Conference Tournament semifinals in St. Louis.

The fourth-seeded Wildcats (23-10) advanced to play No. 13 Tennessee. Ninth-seeded Alabama fell to 19-15.

• Jordan Bone scored 19 points to help spark a hotshootin­g first half for No. 13 Tennessee (25-7) in an 84-66 win over Arkansas in the Southeaste­rn Conference Tournament semifinals in St. Louis.

MOUNTAIN WEST

Troy Kell scored 28 points to lead San Diego State to an 82-75 victory over New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference tournament championsh­ip.

The Aztecs (22-10) earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

AMERICA EAST

In Burlington, Vt., Jairus Lyles hit a long 3-pointer with less than a second left, lifting Maryland Baltimore County over top-seeded Vermont 65-62 in the America East championsh­ip game.

Second-seeded UMBC (24-10) rallied to earn its first NCAA Tournament trip since 2008.

MID-AMERICAN

Wes Clark scored 26 points, Nick Perkins added 16, including a big 3-pointer, and Buffalo (26-8) won its third Mid-American Conference championsh­ip — and the league’s automatic NCAA bid — in four years by beating Toledo 76-66 in Cleveland. Second-seeded Toledo fell to 23-11.

MID-EASTERN ATHLETIC

Pablo Rivas had 22 points and North Carolina Central scored 11 in a row to break a tie at 58 and beat Hampton 71-63 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament championsh­ip in Norfolk, Va..

Jordan Perkins added 13 points and nine assists for the Eagles (19-15), who earned the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in five years.

SUN BELT

In New Orleans, Kaelon Wilson scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half and No. 4 seed UT-Arlington upset top-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette 71-68 in a Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinal.

The Mavericks (21-12) will play second-seeded Georgia State (23-10). Louisiana-Lafayette fell to 27-6. Erick Neal had 18 points to lead UTA. ATLANTIC 10

Peyton Aldridge scored 24 points and No. 3 seed Davidson snapped second-seeded St. Bonaventur­e’s 13-game win streak with an 82-70 victory in an Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament semifinal in Washington.

The Wildcats advance to their first A-10 Tournament championsh­ip Sunday at 20-11 and face No. 25 and top-seeded Rhode Island (25-6).
