If your company is great to its employees, let everyone know

- By Al Lewis

What makes your company a great place to work?

The Houston Chronicle will publish its ninth annual Top Workplaces report this fall, recognizing Houston-area companies that provide a healthy environment for their employees to grow.

To nominate a company, go to www.chron.com/nominate or call 713.429.0375. Anyone, from employees to customers or top executives, can make a nomination. The deadline is May 11.

Tell us what you like best about your company: The flexible hours, the perks, the benefits, the conscientious management, the foosball tables — or maybe the nap room.

And tweet a photo of what makes your workplace so awesome to @chronbusiness. Or post it on www.facebook.com/ chronbusiness.

Awards are largely based on surveys analyzed by Energage, the Chronicle’s research partner for the project. Last year, more than 84,000 local workers gave feedback about their employers as part of the Top Workplaces program.

Energage, which conducts Top Workplaces surveys for more than 40 newspapers, surveyed 2.8 million employees at nearly 7,000 organizations in 2017.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Exton, Pa.-based Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
