Leon Morris Cohen, beloved husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r, died peacefully on March 29,th at the age of 87. Leon was a native Houstonian born to immigrants Abe and Sarah Cohen. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1948. After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned to Houston to join his father-in-law’s business, Levine Supply Company. Later, Leon left to launch his own company, Jones Supply Company and later Cohen Industrial Supply Company. During these years he excelled at selling pipe, valves and fittings to undergroun­d utilities and oilfield contractor­s. He was well-known in the industry and was loved by all his employees, customers and vendors. Leon retired from the company in 2014.

Leon is survived by his wife, Evelyn Levine Cohen, children, Leslie Cohen (Jan), Adrienne Solomon, Yvonne Spolane (Ronny) and Julie Pryor (Dayne); grandchild­ren Joshua (Stephanie), Suzanne and Jacob (Amy) Cohen, Erica Solomon Gould (Eric), Paula Solomon Kingsley (Michael), Adam Spolane, Rikki Spolane Veksler (Boris), Elizabeth Pryor Massey (James) and Marissa Pryor; and great grandchild­ren Spencer, Lilah and Annie Cohen; Ella and Norah Gould; Haley and Benjamin Kingsley.

A Graveside Funeral will be held at Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 1037 N. Post Oak Rd. Houston, TX on Monday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Heart Associatio­n.
