Julian Clifford Britt of Houston, TX passed away on March 29, 2018. He was born in Perquimans County, NC, on May 12, 1920. Julian served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 4th Armored Division. His unit saw action in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. This service included being part of General George Patton’s relief of Bastogne in December 1944. After he was discharged from active duty, Julian joined the newly formed U.S. Air Force and served stateside. In 1950 he separated from the Air Force and moved to Houston, Texas where he went to work for his brother, James Britt, in the utility constructi­on industry. Julian married Colzie Mae Watts on April 11, 1952 and soon after moved to Timbergrov­e Manor where they enjoyed lifelong friendship­s on Worthshire Street. Julian retired from constructi­on in 1972 and went to work for Hughes Tool Company where he worked for another 15 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in the Heights for 70 years. Julian was preceded in death by his father James Thomas Britt and mother Elizabeth Elliott Britt, eight brothers and sisters and his beloved wife of 61 yrs, Colzie. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3rd at Heights Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday, April 4th at Heights Funeral Home. Private Entombment will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Methodist Hospital and the Houston Hospice House for their attention to Julian’s care in his final days. They also would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Brookdale in the Heights where Julian lived the last 7 years of his life. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe, Houston, TX 77030.
