MIRIAM “YUM” CATHARINE MANSFIELD

1953-2018

-

Miriam “Yum” Catharine Mansfield was a child of God who was called home suddenly at her residence in New Braunfels, Tx on Tuesday March 27, 2018. She was born on October 30, 1953 to Larry Vernon Marlin and Cecilia Spiessbach in San Antonio, TX. After graduating high school she received a B.S. from Eastern Kentucky University in Speech Pathology. She furthered her education receiving a Masters from the University of Denver in 1976 in Audiology. While in college she found a love of sign language, volunteer work and helping those in need. She enthusiastically spent countless hours signing in public when needed and had a passion for working with hearing impaired children. Fueled by the Holy Spirit, she had an ability to brighten any room with her beautiful smile and a contagious sparkle in her eye. She was a fun-loving mother who dedicated her life to her family and to the service of others. She enjoyed tennis, reading, scrapbooking, traveling and antiques. Most of all Yum embraced being with family or friends where she would fill the hearts of everyone with her love and unforgettable laughter. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 41 years, Robert “Rob”; sons Greg, John (Allison), James (Megan); 4 grandchildren (that knew her as “Yummy”) Clyde, Charlotte, Macie, and Mae; siblings Mary (Mike), Madeline (Bob), Martha (Nolan), John (Stephanie), Dea (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 3rd from 4 pm until 8 pm with a Rosary recited at 7 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home at 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels; and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 4th at 2 pm at St Peter and Paul 386 Castell Ave, New Braunfels. Services will conclude at the church. Having a passion for our military, she will later be interned at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The family invites you to sign the online guest book at www.zoellerfuneralhm.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities www.rmhc.org.
