VIRGINIA SHINE

1942-2018

Virginia Marie Brimberry Shine, 75, was reunited in heaven with her daughter and brother on March 25th after a courageous battle with cancer. Her close friend often said, “If anyone can kick cancer’s butt, it would be Virginia”. She fought it to the end.

Virginia Shine was born in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Texas in 1960. After working in the legal field for over 35 years and raising her children, she enrolled in college in 1995. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston in 2000 with a Bachelor of Administration degree in Accounting. She was the accountant and network administrator for Town and Country Plastic Surgery for over 10 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Hawk, her daughter, Tracy Jo Shine, and her brother, Jerry Brimberry. As well as her much loved pets, Mickey, Katrina, Sam, Maddie and Diamond.

Virginia is survived by her son, David Shine, his wife Jade and granddaughters, Aidan, Kinsey and Fiona, her sister-in-law, Irene Brimberry, her nieces Kari Phillips and Lisa Touch and nephews Darrell Brimberry and Christopher Brimberry.

Virginia loved to spend her time with her three beautiful granddaughters. When they were younger she would often keep them at her house for the weekend and make them her “special waffles”. She had more toys for them than they had at home! When Virginia was diagnosed with lung cancer she wanted to make a bucket list trip to the Grand Canyon. In March 2017 she fulfilled her wish when she explored the Grand Canyon with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters.

Virginia’s other family was her pet family- her dogs Milo and Piper, and her cats, Digger, Peaches, Katy and Skippy John. She adored them and loved nothing more than feeling their unconditional love.
