Alex González is usually in town pounding the skins as part of iconic Mexican rock band Maná. But the drummer is heading to Houston this month for something entirely different.

González will be in Houston to promote Mala Vida, his limited-edition tequila available in blanco and reposado. He’ll sign bottles at 4 p.m. Saturdayat the Spec’s location at 2410 Smith.

“Mala Vida is a project that I have been working on for several years,” González said in a statement. “Unlike other artists who only do promotion, I am 100-percent involved in the project. It’s a way to share one of the best things we have in Jalisco, the land where Maná was born.”

Maná is one of Latin music’s most enduring acts. The band received the lifetime achievement award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards last month. Pink is coming back

Pink is set to fly again in Houston.

Fresh off a pair of shows at Toyota Center, Pink has announced a round of 37 new dates for her Beautiful Trauma World Tour. She returns March 19 to Toyota Center. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

In my review of her recent show, I called Pink “one of pop music’s most potent voices, using traditional formats to spread messages of hope, inclusion and rebellion.”

Seriously, get your tickets if you missed her last month.
