Miss Morgan Claire Taylor Weds Mr. Ronald Burton Pruet III

Morgan Claire Taylor and Ronald Burton (“Tripp”) Pruet III were united in marriage on Saturday, April 28 at six o’clock in the evening at Bethel Church of Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the bride’s uncle, Reverend Jason Chambers Swiggart. Music for the ceremony was provided by John Bolin and Lisa Pierre, vocalists, Marvin Gaspard, organist, Eric Belvin, pianist, and George Chase, trumpeter. A reception immediatel­y followed at The Forest Club, with entertainm­ent provided by In10City Band. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at The St. Regis Hotel, where the bride wore her mother’s wedding dress, which had been redesigned in cocktail style.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wayne Taylor of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Turner III of Houston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Louis Taylor Jr. of Houston, Texas.

The groom is the son Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Burton Pruet Jr. of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ronald Burton Pruet and the late Dr. Ronald Burton Pruet, and Mrs. Thomas Lynwood Moak and the late Mr. Thomas Lynwood Moak.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown by Rivini that boasted baroque inspired pale pink accents and embroidere­d lace. The halter style neckline was accented with hand appliquéd floral lace which was also part of the dramatic overskirt design. To compliment her gown, the bride wore her mother’s veil and carried a bouquet of pink peonies, ranunculus, and white O’Hara roses.

Serving as her matrons of honor were Jacy Burrell Hawes of Dallas and Suzanna Reed Thompson of Houston. Bridesmaid­s were Sallie McAllister Christie, Sarah Hutchins Duffey, Claire Burgher Frazier, Kendall Shanklin Johnson, Margaret Schuster Magness, Casey Hogue Pruet, Maribeth Drake Pruitt, and Emily Pruet Reeves of Houston, Caroline Gaines Behrens, Elizabeth Morgan Hanley, and Hallie West Swope of San Antonio, and Lamar Katherine Bretches of Denver.

The flower girl was Emily Claire Reeves, niece of the groom. The family honor attendants, all cousins of the bride, were Anna Claire Minter, Molly Grace Minter, Catherine Paige Taylor, Caroline Blair Taylor, Elizabeth Chavanne Wise, and Vivian Claire Wise.

The groom’s brother, James Andrew Pruet of Houston, served as best man. Groomsmen included Benjamin Darrah Adams, John Foster Brown, Austen Wesley Buckalew, Jack Thornton Burgher, James Hay Humphries, William Henry Humphries, William Michael Jobe, David Michael Reeves, Brooks Madison Taylor, Graham Jennings Taylor, Colton Wayne Taylor, and Paul Bundy Thompson Jr. of Houston, Jeffrey Whitley Chase of Columbus, Mississipp­i, Samuel Hardy Farris IV of Nashville, Tennessee, Jeffrey Tyler New of Guatemala, Richard Owen Ramsey of Dallas, and John Stephens Worley III of Washington, DC. Serving as ushers were Adam Frederick Bresser, Sam Foster Brown, Alexander Carl Chae Jr., John Warren Frazier, Earnest Tucker Gore, Jeffrey Julian Hawes, and Ryan Richard Lohse.

Morgan is a graduate of Houston Christian High School. She graduated in 2013 from Baylor University and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Morgan received her master’s degree in counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology and is in private practice as a licensed profession­al counselor.

Tripp is a 2007 graduate of Second Baptist School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Mississipp­i, where he was a member of Sigma Nu. He is a commercial real estate broker with Savills Studley.

Following their honeymoon in Spain, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
