CLEVELAND INDIANS

The club acquired reliever Oliver Drake from the Milwaukee Brewers for $110,000 in an effort to bolster its struggling bullpen.

LHP Andrew Miller has not pitched since April 25 because of a strained left hamstring and will not come off the disabled list Sunday, the first day he is eligible.

Cleveland entered Saturday with a 5.11 bullpen ERA, 28th among the 30 teams and ahead of only Minnesota (5.67) and Kansas City (6.07). Indians relievers are 3-8.

LOS ANGELES ANGELS

RHP Shohei Ohtani is set to make his return to the mound after being announced as the club's starter for Sunday's series finale against Seattle.

The Angels listed Ohtani as the starter prior to Saturday's game. He went through a bullpen session on Friday and came out of that without issue. Manager Mike Scioscia said after Friday's game that all signs were pointing to Ohtani making the start but the team wanted to wait till Saturday before making it official.

Ohtani had been scheduled to start earlier this week before a mild ankle sprain pushed back his turn in the rotation.

NEW YORK METS

RHP Matt Harvey was formally designated for assignment Saturday by the New York Mets, who replaced him on the pitching staff by recalling reliever Hansel Robles from Triple-A Las Vegas.

The move was made before the Mets hosted the Colorado Rockies, just as general manager Sandy Alderson said. Alderson announced Friday the team had decided to cut Harvey from its roster after the struggling former ace refused a minor league assignment.

The 29-year-old righthander, beset by injuries following a sensational start to his career, lost his spot in the rotation last month after four starts. He was demoted to the bullpen and had a 10.50 ERA in four relief appearances.

The Mets now have seven days to trade or release Harvey. Because of his $5,625,000 salary, a trade might be difficult to work out unless the club agrees to send cash as part of a deal. If Harvey is released, a team signing him would owe just a prorated share of the $545,000 minimum.

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

CF Tommy Pham, C Yadier Molina and closer Bud Norris will be evaluated a day after they all were injured and left a game against the Cubs. Pham was taken out with right groin tightness. Molina was lifted in the eighth inning after being hit in the groin by a tipped 102 mph pitch and Norris had to exit because of tightness in his triceps.

WASHINGTON NATIONALS

The club reinstated 3B Anthony Rendon from the 10-day disabled list and optioned infielder Adrian Sanchez to Class AAA Syracuse. Rendon missed 19 games with what the team called a contusion to his big toe after fouling a pitch off his foot on April 13.
