New spot for pet resort in former furniture store

A Galleria-area building originally developed by outdoor furniture retailer Chair King at 6393 Richmond in the 1980s will get a new use this fall. Meadowlake Pet Resort &

Training Center plans to open a second area location designed to accommodat­e 150 cats and dogs for lodging and 75 dogs for day care. The company, which opened at 13500 Furman Road in south Houston in 2009, will have more than 20,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor space on Richmond.

“At Meadowlake, we aim to make life better for pets and their people,” president Carroll Robertson Ray said in an announceme­nt.

Katherine Wildman of Wulfe & Co. represente­d the seller, Win port Furniture, in the deal.

Houston Pets Alive! has leased 1,862 square feet at 2532 Nottingham in the Rice Village area for a thrift shop. The store will help fund the organizati­on’s

mission of providing resources and programs to save animals at risk of being killed. Melissa Gerber Brams of Gerber Realty represente­d the landlord, F.A. Interests.

Teriyaki Madness has leased 1,549 square feet space at 1901 Lake Robbins, The Wood lands, for its second Houston area location. Zack Wheeler of Newcor Commercial Real Estate represente­d the tenant. Grant Gold represente­d the landlord, Howard Hughes Corp.

Pho L’amore has leased 2,800 square feet for a Vietnamese noodle restaurant in Shadow Creek Shopping Center, 11901 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland. Danny Nguyen of DN Commercial represente­d the landlord.

Fajita Pete’s has leased 1,268 square feet at The Shops at Firethorne, 2611 FM1463, Katy. Jonathan Aron and Matt McKinnerne­y represente­d the landlord, Hunington Properties.
