Japanese cream puff chain makes its Texas debut

Beard Papa’s, a Japanese cream puff chain with 30 U.S. stores, will open its first Texas location in Katy Asian Town on Aug. 18. The 1,600-square-foot store at 23119 Colonial Parkway will be the chain’s largest in North America. The cafe, near the Katy Freeway and the Grand Parkway, will offer baked cream puffs, pastries, cakes and drinks. Founded in Osaka, Japan, Beard Papa’s has more than 400 stores worldwide, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London, Singapore and Tokyo.

Braun Enterprise­s has signed a second retail tenant at its 2522 Yale redevelopm­ent in the Heights. F45 Training, represente­d by Sage Klement with Streetwise, will occupy 3,000 square feet in a new fitness studio adjoining Bishops salon. Braun’s will build out the second floor with one to four office suites with shared amenities such as a conference room and coffee bar as it expands its new Urban Office by Braun Enterprise­s brand. The space will be ready for tenants by October.

Lemon Laine, a natural beauty and wellness shop founded by Laura Lemon in Nashville, Tenn., will open a store in Heights Mercantile this fall. Houston-based Content Architectu­re will design the 1,000square-foot store. Heights Mercantile is a project of Radom Capital at Heights Boulevard and 7th Street.

Zero Degrees, an Asian Hispanic fusion chain selling drinks and snacks, has leased 1,400 square feet at Tomball Marketplac­e at Texas 249 and FM 2920. John Wise represente­d the landlord, Weingarten Realty. Opening is planned in December. First Watch will open a restaurant at 13325 Westheimer Road in Market Square at Eldridge Parkway on Monday. Mac Haik Enterprise­s, a Houstonbas­ed franchise group, owns and operates the location. The chain serves breakfast, brunch and lunch from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily. Reach Stretch Studios has leased 2,224 square feet at 1525 Lake Pointe Parkway, Suite 300, Sugar Land. Jennifer Fogle represente­d Planned Community Developers. Richard Buxbaum of Radius Realty Advisors represente­d the tenant. Ali Baba Grocers & Restaurant signed a 4,250-square-foot lease at 26440 FM 1093, Richmond. Amy Rienstra, Randy Young and Dylan Schopper with Finial Group represente­d the landlord.

The Juicy Crab has leased 7,015 square feet at Shopping Center at Willowbroo­k Mall, 17278 Tomball Parkway. Amandeep Singh of Retail Solutions represente­d the landlord. Wenjie Wang of the Sunset Group represente­d the tenant.
