Edward Vee Pollard, Jr., 84, of Friendswoo­d, TX passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. He was born August 6, 1934 to Edward Vee Pollard, Sr. and Carmella Marasckin Pollard in West Columbia, TX.

Ed graduated from Alvin High School and Sam Houston State University. Ed, nicknamed “Tex” met Janet when he was in the USAF stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Bass; they were married for 59 years. They lived in Manvel, TX for 38 years before moving to Friendswoo­d, TX in 2001. He retired from Getty Oil and Exxon Mobile, where he worked as a Physicist.

He enjoyed old westerns and he was a skilled “Do-ItYourself­er” who was adept at carpentry, gardening and automotive repair. Some of his favorite memories are of pitching softball and of growing up in Manvel and working at his aunt’s dairy taking cows out to graze in the morning and back to the barn in the evenings.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Janet Irene (Gilley) Pollard and daughter, Sue Ellen Pollard.
