Dolores “Do” Collins Lewis, passed away on Thursday, the 9th of August 2018 in Lakeway, Texas.

She was born in Richmond, Texas to Ethel and Wyatt Collins on the 22nd of August 1924. After graduating from high school in Richmond, in 1941, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO and there received she an Associates in Arts degree in 1943. In 1945 she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas. There she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. After graduating and returning home, she met and married Bob G. Lewis, the youngest son of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons. They had a wonderful marriage of 63 years until his death in 2009.

They had a very loving daughter, Carol who survives with her husband, Thomas D. Blackwell and a grand-daughter, Kari Anne Blackwell. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Bud C. Harwood and several nieces and nephews. Do was a very private person, very gracious and very elegant. She was a member of Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston.

An interment service will be conducted at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 31st of August, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston, where the Rev. Stuart A. Bates, Rector of St. Francis Episcopal Church in to officiate. A uniformed Steward from Geo. H. Lewis & Sons is to be positioned at the cemetery entrance, so as to direct attendees to the gravesite.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, memorial contributi­ons may be directed to the Austin Hospice, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78759; or the charity of one’s choice.
