Taylor Morrison partners with local vendors on GHBA charity project
Taylor Morrison Houston is partnering with their long-time vendors and the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) to build one of two GHBA Benefit homes this year. The Benefit Homes Project is a 38-year-old charity fundraiser that raised funds for two local charities. HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home are beneficiaries of the project.
Companies donating their materials or services include, Data Smart, Builders First Source, PPG Paint, Action Gypsum Supply through Astro Drywall, Drymala Trees, Rosenberg Plumbing, Probuild, Probuild and LaPalma Construction.
Taylor Morrison recently began construction on their Rosebay floor plan in Grand Vista. This one-story home design is part of Taylor Morrison’s Chalet Series that offers elegant living within its 1,730 square feet.
The entryway leads to an open-concept gathering room and kitchen, that is the heart of the home. The formal dining room is designed for both large gathering or intimate dining.
The private master suite includes a French door entry to a master bath featuring a vanity with dual sinks and a walk-in closet.
This three-bedroom home offers quality cabinetry and countertops, top name energy-saving appliances and design options that include a bay window and sitting area in the owner’s suite, a fireplace in the gathering room, a study conversion, bathroom upgrades and the ability to expand the garage with additional storage space or third-car space.
“When we were approached by GHBA to participate in the Benefit Homes Project, we were quick to jump at the chance,” said Amy Rino, division president of Taylor Morrison Houston, Darling Homes Houston and Bonterra. “We have seen what an extraordinary difference this project makes and how it helps bring the community together around a very positive goal. Taylor Morrison recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, and we’re excited to be a part of this 38-yearold fundraiser.”
Taylor Morrison’s Grand Vista 45s community in west Houston is located on 600 acres, 30 miles from downtown Houston. The community includes 150 acres of parks, open space, and recreational amenities such as two community clubhouses and pools plus playgrounds for the kids.
With convenient access to the West Park Toll Road and the Grand Parkway, Grand Vista is within proximity to plenty of retail and entertainment, including the Katy Mills Mall, a 1.3 million-square-foot retail and entertainment destination with more than 200 stores, restaurants, and a 20-screen movie theater.
Students who reside at Grand Vista can attend Fort Bend ISD schools.
Each year two homes are built for this GHBA charity fundraiser with donated land, construction management, materials, labor and services by GHBA members. These homes are constructed with upgrade materials and features and are sold at market value. Since the project began, more than $10 million has been raised.
