Katy-area town center preleases coming expansion

NewQuest Properties has preleased most of a 66,000square-foot expansion of the first phase of Grand Morton Town Center at the Grand Parkway and Morton Ranch Road in the Katy area. Projected to open in summer 2019 are HomeGoods (22,200 square feet), Michaels

Stores (21,760 square feet), Petco (12,500 square feet) and Hallmark (4,500 square feet). Josh Friedlande­r and Rebecca Le represente­d NewQuest Properties. Culver Stedman of Edge Realty represente­d HomeGoods, Joan Cullum of Cullum Commercial represente­d Michaels, and Matt Reed of NewQuest Properties represente­d Petco. Groundbrea­king will occur in the coming months. King Ranch Saddle Shop has leased 2,594 square feet for a store in Midway’s CityCentre developmen­t near Interstate 10 and Beltway 8. The shop sells luggage, handbags, western saddles boots and furniture. Opening is planned in September. Tough Mudder Bootcamp plans to open its first Houston location at 1901 Taylor at Interstate 10 in the Heights area by October. Jason Stanley is the local franchisee of the bootcamp, which offers high-intensity team training fitness classes. The store offers single classes and monthly membership packages.

Brazos Town Center, a project of NewQuest Properties at U.S. 59 and FM 762 in Rosenberg, has signed two new tenants. Salata, represente­d by Emily Durham of Waterman Steele Real Estate Advisors, has leased 2,700 square feet. Aisha’s Salon & Spa has leased 1,400 square feet. Bob Conwell and Austen Baldridge of NewQuest Properties represente­d the landlord.

Salata has opened a Cinco Ranch store at 9333 Spring Green Blvd.

Houston-based Fifth Corner has purchased Garden Oaks Center, a 13,877-square foot center at 3406 N. Shepherd Drive, from a local developer. The center is fully occupied with tenants including Pink’s Pizza, Shepherd Park Draught House and Molly’s Mutt House. Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale.

Dallas-based East Hampton Sandwich Co. and Mama Ninfa’s Tacos y Tortas, a new concept of Houston-based Legacy Restaurant­s, have signed up as tenants in Understory, a 9,000square-foot culinary market opening at Skanska’s Capitol Tower, 800 Capitol, in 2019. Legacy Restaurant­s, owner of The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation and Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys, plans additional Mama Ninfa’s Tacos y Tortas locations. Nick Hernandez, Crystal Allen and Lacee Wilke of Transweste­rn represente­d the landlord.

Marco’s Pizza has opened at 4125 Williams Way Blvd. in Richmond. The restaurant is owned and operated by franchisee Dannish Daya. Headquarte­red in Toledo, Ohio, Marco’s Pizza operates more than 900 stores worldwide. UBreakIFix has leased 1,200 square feet at the Shops on Garth Road, 5623 Garth Road, Baytown. Stephen Pheigaru of Hunington Properties represente­d the landlord.
