Luxury penthouses offer incredible views, amenities
If being on top of the world is how you want to live your life, Houston’s most prestigious luxury condominiums’ penthouses are where you want to be.
The word, penthouse, defined as a home on the top floor of a tall building, typically luxuriously fitted with breathtaking views, is explicably represented in Houston properties. They are also differentiated by the amount of luxury experience they offer.
Moni Bohnisch, Lance Rosmarin and Laura Sweeney of John Daugherty, Realtors have all seen the finest Houston has to offer. For those looking to get into a penthouse, there are gorgeous, over-the-top choices to consider purchasing.
According to Bohnisch, there are close to 90 penthouses available in some of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods such as the Medical Center, River Oaks, Tanglewood and Uptown. Price points range from $600,000-plus into the millions.
Buyers can expect security, spectacular views, and peace of mind with a lockand-leave lifestyle. Many newer buildings offer hotel services, pools, private rooms and/or spaces for entertaining, concierge services and in-house activity managers, Bohnisch said.
One such unit to consider is a penthouse at the Four Seasons with one-ofkind features, superb location, spectacular panoramic views and first-class touches, Bohnisch said.
“The penthouse at the Four Seasons is the epitome of luxury living. Not only is this home filled with amenities and has been extensively remodeled, it also comes with a Four Seasons address and all that brand offers,” Bohnisch said.
The Regency House’s Penthouse West at 2701 Westheimer was described by Rosmarin as “quiet glamor in the sky.”
This property that is “old school” with a “blue-blooded pedigree” is the bestknown secret in River Oaks, Rosmarin said.
The Regency House has attracted families that are downsizing looking for life under the radar. It also has been home to high profile interior designers who adore the units with amazing views and light. It was the first luxury high-rise built outside downtown by William Dickey.
The Penthouse West at The Regency House offers sweeping views of the city’s toniest neighborhood with access to a private 2-acre park with swimming pool, Rosmarin said. The location is adjacent to West Avenue, providing proximity to Upper Kirby dining and shopping.
“Over the years, it’s also become known as where interior designers have hung their hats,” Rosmarin said.
Sweeney’s distinctive penthouse property listings are in some of Houston’s high-in-demand areas and provide roomy sanctuaries to reside in.
Warwick Towers’ penthouse, located at 1111 Hermann Drive, has two stories with over 5,500 square feet with multiple window exposures and balconies.
“It has … views and exquisite details,” said Sweeney. “This home is everything and more someone would desire in a luxury building in the Museum District. The expansive space and abundance of entertaining areas make this one of a kind. The building’s services are in step with the owner’s needs.”
Another penthouse location to consider is The Huntingdon at 2121 Kirby, where the design is reminiscent of a five-star hotel, according to Sweeney.
“Many of the staff have been in service there for years. Their warm greetings and attentiveness make every interaction with them a pleasure. They get to know the residents and anticipate their needs while being respectful of their privacy,” Sweeney said.
Bohnisch expects more spectacular penthouse homes to come to the Houston area.
“There are several new buildings in the works from River Oaks to Uptown. Look for them to only add more services to the offerings,” she said.
