Highland Homes partners with vendors for GHBA charity
Highland Homes, one of two builders constructing a Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit Home in 2018, is nearing completion of its Windemere plan in the community of Balmoral. Land Tejas donated the homesite.
Early in the planning, Highland secured their vendor and supplier donations that are ensuring the sale of its home. It will provide much needed funds to local charities. HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home are the beneficiaries.
Highlands’ Windemere plan has 2,250 square feet and features four bedrooms, three baths and a two-car garage. The island kitchen overlooks the open dining and living room, with a two-story ceiling and access to the extended outdoor living area. The master suite is down and has a walk-in closet. Other features of this home include an additional bedroom and full bath down, a game room and two upstairs bedrooms.
Vendor companies who are donating their materials or services include: Action Gypsum, Allied Concrete, All Points Survey, Anchor Drywall, Atak Pest Control, Big Tex, BMC, Broan, Builders Post Tension, Burgess Construction, CJ Builders Service, D&E Door, Drain Rite Gutters, Empire Contracting, Escobar Landscaping and Eyeon Integrated Systems.
This is the 16th lot that Land Tejas has donated to the Benefit Homes Project. The second Benefit Home recently broke ground in Grand Vista. Taylor Morrison/ Darling Homes has completed construction on itsRosebay Plan.
Each year, two homes are built for this GHBA charity fundraiser with donated land, construction management, materials, labor and services by GHBA members. These homes are constructed with upgrade materials and features and are sold at market value. Since the project began 38 years ago, over $10 million has been raised.
