RICHARD WILLIAM MULAC, SR.

1932-2019

-

Richard (Dick) William Mulac, Sr. was born on July 14, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to Marion and Frank Mulac. Dick attended John Carroll University and served our nation in the US Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany. After the Army, Dick returned home to marry his sweetheart, Kathy Fritz in 1958.

Dick had a successful career in the Grocery business. This led Kroger Company to offer him a significant new role in Texas. Dick accepted the challenge and in 1970 he moved his young family to the Houston area. It wasn’t long until Dick embraced all things Texan.

Dick was a gentleman to everyone he met. His kindness, caring attitude, contagious smile, and humble nature were apparent to all. He had a way of putting one at ease and showed genuine interest in their lives. A community leader, Dick was among the founders of Saint Edward’s Parish and Willow Creek Golf Club in Spring, Texas.

Dick was a servant to his God, his family, and community. Dick was happy when helping others, tinkering in his garage, or working on home projects, but he was most happy when involved with his children’s activities. It was the love of his family that was foremost in his life and he cherished every moment with his children. He was a blessing as a father and a doting grandfather, quick to give a hug or hold the baby. He will be missed. Rest in peace Papa.

Dick is survived by his four children Kathryn and John Goss, Richard and Rebekah Mulac, Edward and Jamie Mulac, and Maureen and Stephen Collette and nine grandchildren - Mary Kate, Jack and Annie Goss, Grant, Emily and Caroline Mulac and Maggie, CJ and Addie Collette. He is also survived by his sisters Jeanne Wurm and Darlene Ruffo and brother Frank Mulac

A Memorial Mass in celebration of Dick’s life will be held at Saint Edward’s Catholic Church, 2601 SpringSteubner Road, Spring, Texas at 10:30 am on February 16, 2019. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org under Kathy and Richard Mulac Tribute page
