Hedges’ slam one of 7 HRs for S.D.

TORONTO — Austin Hedges connected for a grand slam and the San Diego Padres hit a franchiser­ecord seven home runs to romp past the Toronto Blue Jays 19-4 for their fifth straight win.

Wil Myers and Hunter Renfroe each hit two home runs and Ian Kinsler and Eric Hosmer also homered. The previous team record was six, set in Cincinnati on July 17, 1998.

YANKEES SWEEP ROYALS: Luke Voit hit a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning and visiting New York won, beating Kansas City 7-3 to open a day-night doublehead­er.

In the second game, Cameron Maybin drove in a trio of runs as New York rode a five-run second inning to a 6-5 win over Kansas City.

CUBS 8, REDS 6: Addison Russell homered at Wrigley Field for the first time since he was suspended for violating baseball's domestic violence policy, leading host Chicago to a wild victory over Cincinnati.

DODGERS 7, PIRATES 2: Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager both doubled and drove in two runs as visiting Los Angeles slugged their way past Pittsburgh.

NATIONALS 5, MARLINS 0: Patrick Corbin pitched a four-hit shutout, Yan Gomes hit a three-run double in the fourth inning and host Washington beat Miami.

DIAMONDBAC­KS 10, GIANTS 4: Ketel Marte homered for the second consecutiv­e day, Adam Jones had two hits and an RBI, and Arizona beat host San Francisco.

CARDINALS 6, BRAVES 3: Jedd Gyorko capped a rally with his three-run homer in the 8th inning as host

St. Louis beat Atlanta.

RAYS 6, INDIANS 2: Charlie Morton surrendere­d just three hits and one run over six innings as visiting Tampa Bay topped Cleveland.

ATHLETICS 6, MARINERS 5: Mike Fiers won in his first start at the Coliseum since pitching a no-hitter earlier this month and host Oakland beat Seattle.

PHILLIES 7, BREWERS 2: Jake Arrieta pitched eight effective innings, Andrew McCutchen homered and visiting Philadelph­ia beat Milwaukee.

ORIOLES 9, ROCKIES 6: Jonathan Villar and Renato Nunez both homered to lead Baltimore over host Colorado.

TWINS 8, WHITE SOX 1: C.J. Cron and Ehire Adrianza each drove in four runs as host Minnesota beat Chicago for its 10th win in 11 games.

METS 5, TIGERS 4 (13): Tomas Nido homered against Buck Farmer leading off the 13th inning, Wilson Ramos homered twice and host New York beat Detroit.
