Luxury high-rise spotlight on The Astoria

- By Valerie Sweeten CORRESPONDENT

In the heart of Uptown Park and the Galleria, residents of The Astoria Condominium Tower have found their own personal paradise in this high-rise residence.

Located at 1409 Post Oak Blvd., The Astoria is a 29-story, 74-unit luxury residential building complete with all the bells and whistles someone living in this area expects to have.

Kristina Houston with New Leaf Real Estate said The Astoria features a fantastic location with excellent walkability.

“It’s in the heart of high-end shopping and dining. Just down the street from the Houston Galleria, the building is located within walking distance to Whole Foods and great dining spots such as North Italia. It’s also right behind the new Post Oak Hotel and dining such as Mastros and Willie G’s,” Houston said.

This exclusive address offers spacious floor plans with two bedrooms starting around 1,450 square feet. The majority of the units feature three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with an average of nearly 3,000 square feet. Some homes in the building also provide panoramic 270-degree views with 10-foot floor to ceiling windows.

“All units feature panoramic views and soaring 11-ft ceilings with high end finishes such as Eggersman European Cabinetry and Miele appliances,” said Houston. “Some floor plans even include a private elevator entry.”

In addition, there are all top-notch touches here for residents.

There are glass balcony rails, 4-inch oak hardwood floors, stone countertops, porcelain kitchen floors, distinctive bath fixtures and private rooftop pools in some penthouses. Modern architecture with art deco features highlights the coffered ceilings as well.

Entertain to your heart’s content in your kitchen with steamer and wok burner, pull-out pantries, and wine coolers. After that, relax in your master bath retreat complete with both standard and rain heads in the Master Bath shower with frameless shower doors. The Origami “Air Bath” tubs also sit beside a television in the master bath.

Penthouse units across the upper floors offer 9,000 square feet of residential space. In penthouses, there are four sky pools available, private garages, an upgraded kitchen appliances package, large wine coolers, custom designed kitchen islands and Dornbracht master bath fixtures. Ceilings highlight the design of the residence at 12 feet, with 10 feet of glass.

Community amenities range from a party room with catering kitchen, fitness center, and outdoor lounge.

“The Astoria is a fullservice building with onsite staff and management including concierge service and valet parking,” said Houston. “Because there are only 75 units, the service level is high. Building amenities include an amazing infinity-edge pool deck with spectacular Galleria views, a gym, and even a guest suite for overnight guests.”
