Deena Everest works for win-win transaction

Most have heard that real estate is all about location, location, location.

“I’d like to add the importance of trust, trust, and trust. That means trusting your Realtor, trusting your Realtor’s broker, and trusting your instincts,” said Deena Everest, a Realtor with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty.

You have to know without a doubt your Realtor will always be on your side. And you have to trust their real estate firm has all the tools, resources, and expertise to support every client, no matter what.

“And you have to trust your instincts. Don’t let emotions always rule. Trust yourself if you should agree or walk away. And let your Realtor take it from there,” Everest said.

Everest began her real estate career in Chicago in 2008.

“I was interested in buying a home for my mom. I knew if I had a real estate license, I could see homes myself. I’m so glad I got my license, I love what I do,” Everest said.

Everest grew up in Hondo, a small farming community. She and her husband met at Texas A&M University in College Station, and have called Houston home since 1987. The couple spent a few years in the Northeast and Chicago before returning to Houston.

Everest has lived around Houston since 1987, such as Cypress, The Woodlands, League City, and has lived in Jersey Village for the past seven years.

These areas, including the U.S. 290 corridor, are her focus areas. She also goes where clients are interested.

She and her husband have bought and sold many homes, so they understand being on both sides of the table.

“Jersey Village is a great location and residents rarely move away,” Everest said.

Prior to real estate, Everest was in insurance and held banking licenses in four states, assisting her husband, who was with a major insurance company.

An interesting note about Everest is she worked at NASA in the Mission Operations Directorate

during the 25th anniversary of Apollo 11 and the man’s first walk on the moon. She was a test subject in NASA’s zero-gravity aircraft nicknamed the Vomit Comet.

Everest has also continued her education. She is a graduate of the Texas Realtors Leadership Program and holds a Master Certified Negotiation Expert designation.

“My philosophy is to work creatively and collaboratively for win/win situations for all parties in a transaction. Every day brings a new and different challenge, and I love it,” Everest said.
