Progress continues on Meridiana’s 2nd on-site school
Meridiana, a top-selling community minutes south of Pearland, will soon bring its education focus full circle as construction continues on a new on-site junior high school, opening fall 2021, with an adjacent high school, opening fall 2022, following close behind.
The new Alvin ISD junior high school will join Meridiana Elementary to provide residents with the convenience of two on-site schools just down the street from the community’s neighborhoods of new homes. By fall 2022, Meridiana will offer all three levels of education within or adjacent to the community.
However Meridiana’s outstanding on-site schools represent just part of the community’s commitment to education. At the waterfront Galileo’s Lab, families learn about the constellations, sound waves and other principles of science while the community’s iconic 60-foot Meridian Tower operates similar to a sun tower by casting a shadow that moves as the Earth rotates. Even stone walls down Meridiana Parkway line up with the Meridian Tower to represent the winter and summer solstice lines.
