CONDO LIFE
Building spotlight on The Hawthorne
Looking to experience the luxury condo life in the Tanglewood area, but can’t find what you are searching for?
Pelican Builders, one of Houston’s most experienced condominium developers, is set to get started on The Hawthorne, a new 17-story high-rise coming soon. It will be located at 5656 San Felipe and is inspired by the beauty of its prime location.
Slated to give its residents the comfort and convenience of 360-degree views of the lush tree-lined neighborhood as well as five-star service, The Hawthorne is set to appeal to downsizing residents in Tanglewood, Briarcroft, Briargrove and Memorial.
The Hawthorne, the first condominium in 40 years to be developed in the middle of these surrounding neighborhoods, is one of the only new residential high-rise projects announced this year in Houston.
Ludlow & Associates Construction, which has been awarded the construction contract, has plans to break ground in the first quarter of 2020. Its portfolio includes work on the Belfiore Condominiums, Hotel Granduca Austin, and Hotel Granduca Houston.
The project is designed by Kirksey Architecture. Kirksey also designed The Wilshire at the River Oaks District as well as the ninestory boutique condominium, The Revere, currently rising in the River Oaks area.
In addition, the expansive interiors and public indoor/ outdoor areas are designed by internationally acclaimed Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studio.
Betty Harbourt, senior executive VP of marketing with Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, said the location and lifestyle are designed with five-star service for residents.
“The Kirksey-designed project has appealed to Tanglewood and Memorialarea
empty nesters looking to not only downsize, but to streamline their lifestyle without having to think about leaving neighborhood family and friends, not to mention the clubs, markets, salons and other lifestyle destinations that are part of their daily routine,” Harbourt said.
Floor plans range from large two and three bedrooms, some with studies, according to Harbourt.
“Starting at $1.2 million with an average size of 2,705 square feet, all 67 luxury homes in this pet-friendly building come with amenity-rich features and services,” said Harbourt. “These include large terraces with terrace potties for your dog and a 67-foot lap pool surrounded by lush landscaping.”
The building’s fifth-floor oasis will also be home to a dedicated fitness center, resident lounge and bar with fireplace, game tables, coffee area and catering kitchen. Residents can look forward to a stress-free lifestyle thanks to 24/7 concierge, valet, and porter service.
