Morant helps Grizzlies trounce Lakers, snap 5-game skid

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rookie Ja Morant had 27 points and matched his season high with 14 assists, and the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a five-game losing streak with a 105-88 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

Dillon Brooks added 24 points and Jonas Valanciuna­s had 22 points and 20 rebounds as the Grizzlies helped their chances of keeping the final playoff spot in the West.

LeBron James scored 19 points, and Anthony Davis finished with 15 points and nine rebounds as Los Angeles lost for only the second time in February.

HAWKS 129, BLAZERS 117

Trae Young had 25 points and 15 assists, John Collins added 24 points and 10 rebounds, and host Atlanta beat the Portland for its second straight win.

Atlanta, the NBA’s worst 3-point shooting team this season, dazzled beyond the arc for the second night in a row. Shooting 42.9% on 42 attempts.

SPURS 114, MAGIC 113

Trey Lyles had 20 points as host San Antonio snapped Orlando’s threegame winning streak.

With San Antonio leading 114-113, Bryn Forbes lost the ball in a scramble with 7.5 seconds. Magic guard Evan Fournier threw up an errant and off-balance layup with 2.2 seconds that the Spurs recovered .

HEAT 116, NETS 113

Kendrick Nunn scored 21 points as host Miami held off Brooklyn.

Goran Dragic added 19 points, and Bam Adebayo had 16 points and 12 rebounds to help the Heat win consecutiv­e games for the first time since Feb. 1-3.

KNICKS 125, BULLS 115

Reserve Mitchell Robinson had a career-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Julius Randle added 22 points and 10 boards, and New York beat visiting Chicago to snap a six-game losing streak.

PACERS 113, CAVALIERS 104

T.J. Warren scored 30 points, Malcolm Brogdon hit the go-ahead basket midway through the fourth quarter, and Indiana won at Cleveland.

WARRIORS 115, SUNS 99

Eric Paschall scored 25 points, Damion Lee added 20, and Golden State snapped an eight-game losing streak with a win at Phoenix.
