Dozens of companies are helping to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Benefit

Homes Project by stepping up to ensure a Benefit home is built at little cost by donating their materials, labor and services to its construction. HistoryMaker Homes has recruited these companies and has completed its Alder Plan in Sierra Vista, a Land Tejas community. Proceeds from the sale of the home will be donated to two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the project began, nearly $12 million has been raised.

Vendors donating include All Points Group, DPIS Builder Services, Excell Foundations, Universal Forest Products, Windstorm Group, Mohawk, TWI, Country Wide Roofing, Deep Blue Comfort, Rock Materials, Builders Choice Inc., Royal Bath /Counter Source Flooring Services, Advantage Gutters, Factory Builder Stores, Sherwin Williams Paint, Builders First Source, Perfection Supply and Jacobs Overhead Door.

Each year, two to three homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project. The homes offer a variety of the most popular features and amenities on the market today. They are sold at market value and proceeds benefit HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

“We are honored to complete our Benefit Home as the GHBA marks its 40th anniversary in 2020,” said Mickey Pizzitola, HistoryMaker’s Houston division president. “HistoryMaker has an extensive base of vendors, suppliers and trades who are willing to give back to the community. We are honored to be able to build this home with their contributions so that two local charities will be able to change the lives of those in need. We look forward to the upcoming Vendor Appreciation Luncheon where we can formally say thank you and also celebrate its 40th year.”

The Alder plan is a 3,176square-foot, two-story home featuring an open design with five bedrooms and four baths. This plan also showcases a downstairs master bedroom and game room upstairs, as well as a three-car garage.

Family owned and operated since 1949, HistoryMaker Homes launched in Dallas-Fort Worth and expanded over the decades to become a builder of more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.

“HistoryMaker understood the importance of building one of their beautiful homes at low cost and then selling it at market cost,” said Rob Hellyer, president of GHBA. “The proceeds allow them to give back in a unique way that will benefit so many. We can’t thank them and their vendors enough for taking on this charity fundraiser.”
