The Benefit Homes Project team that includes HistoryMaker Homes, Land Tejas and the Greater Houston Builders Association, is making plans for the Vendor Appreciation Luncheon to honor the companies and individuals who donated to the construction of the HistoryMaker Benefit home. The home was built with donated materials on a lot donated by Land Tejas in Sierra Vista.

When the home sells, proceeds will be donated to two local charities, Operation Finally Home and HomeAid Houston. Since the inception of the Benefit Homes Project 40 years ago, nearly 12 million dollars has been raised. The homes are constructed with upgrades and amenities not always found in other homes with similar pricing.

The vendors and suppliers will join the Benefit homes team and the charities at a barbecue luncheon to be held in the newly completed home in Sierra Vista. Guest speakers from both charities will be sharing their stories of handling crisis situations and how the funds raised through the Benefit Homes Project have helped them rebuild their lives.

A representative from HistoryMaker and Land Tejas will also thank the vendors and suppliers for their continued generosity throughout the years, as most of the donors have participated in the Benefit Homes Project year after year. It will also be highlighted at the luncheon that Land Tejas donated their 17th lot to the Benefit Homes Project with this homesite in Sierra Vista.

HistoryMaker constructed their popular Alder plan for the project. It is a 3,176-square-foot, twostory home featuring an open design with five bedrooms and four baths. This plan also showcases a downstairs master bedroom and a game room upstairs, as well as a threecar garage.

“The GHBA, the builder and developer and the charities are happy to be able to honor the many companies that donated to the construction of this beautiful home,” said Terry Swenson, PR director of GHBA and the Benefit Homes Project. “The luncheon and plaques noting their donation will showcase their commitment to this successful charity fundraiser.”
