Zoom-ing through meeting setup

- Helpline@chron.com

Q: Friends in Europe are planning a Zoom gettogether and I was advised to download the program. I was confused when I tried to find a download, as there were several promising the safe downloading of this app. Could you provide the real website to safely download Zoom for my system?

A: A cursory search of the word Zoom using most search engines will provide the company website of www.zoom.us as the first result and this is the correct address for Zoom. More specifically, www.zoom.us/download to download their application.

Keep in mind that you don’t need a Zoom account to join a Zoom meeting if you have the invitation link. Simply clicking on the link sent to you by the host will take you through the process of connecting to the meeting.

Q: Over the last month or so I continue to get a message that says that my Outlook data file has reached the maximum size. I checked my C drive and have over 50 percent free space. Why do I continue to get this message and what should I do to prevent this from reoccurring?

A: This message has nothing to do with how much hard drive space you have. This message is telling you that your Outlook Data File, known as a PST file, has reached its maximum size and that this needs to be addressed.

The PST file is where your Outlook program stores your messages, along with any attachments, when it downloads your email from the server.

To clean up quickly, you can use the Mailbox Cleanup Tool in Outlook. Instructions for how to do this can be found at tinyurl.com/helplinepst.

Cleaning up your existing mail archive will buy you sometime, but I would recommend going one step further and creating a new PST mail archive and then archiving your older email.

The link at tinyurl.com/ helplinecreatepst explains how to do that.
