REALTOR OF THE WEEK
Marilyn Martinez knows the importance of home.
The real estate industry is always changing to adapt to peoples’ needs, and one constant need is people always want a safe place to live.
“I think we all appreciate our home more after our recent stay-home, work-safe order. And now, many people are reassessing their needs. The first part of spring, the typical home-buying months, people were mostly staying home, due to the stay-home order. However, going into June we have seen an incredible increase in market activity.” said Marilyn Savage Martinez, a Realtor with Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living.
People want a home they can call their refuge — a place to relax and recharge with their friends and families.
That is the same now as in the past, so this industry is immensely important to fulfill that need.
“I am thrilled each time I help a client purchase their home or when they sell their home and are transitioning into new phases of their lives,” Martinez said.
When Martinez became part of the relocation team at Beth Wolff 16 years ago, she worked with clients all over Houston and surrounding areas and continues to do so today. She helps clients with residential and commercial properties.
Martinez hails from Dallas and moved to Houston as child. Today, she and her husband live in the Memorial area.
“One of the things that drew me to real estate was it seemed to fit my personality, having been selfemployed for many years, and I could help people,” Martinez said.
Prior to real estate, Martinez and her husband were entertainers known as Larry and Marilyn. Her husband was a trumpet player and teacher and she was the vocalist.
“We traveled the US and Bermuda performing. We came back to Houston where we played at numerous venues. I learned great discipline from music, and it has helped me in real estate in many ways,” Martinez said.
Martinez is an awardwinning Realtor, with awards including as Top Producer and others.
She also holds many certifications such as Accredited Buyer Representative, Corporate Mobility Specialist, Relocation Certified in Destination Services, Marketing Assistance, etc.
She is known for her tenacity, honesty, compassion, respect for others, sincerity and her drive for optimal results for clients.
“I know there are so many changes happening, but I have a strong belief that people will emerge better and stronger. We will prosper, and have good health and more love for mankind,” Martinez said.
