Cane Island continues legacy of the storied Katy property

The Boardwalk, or vacation in their own backyard with a trip to Towne Lake’s private island, complete with grills and a sandy beach.

“There’s nothing that compares to being able to enjoy time on the lake just minutes from your doorstep. We chose this suburban, master-planned community to live in because we have small children and our priorities were good schools and amenities that made family life convenient and more enjoyable, all while surrounded by families in similar stages of life. But what we got with Towne Lake has been much more than that. It has an amazing sense of community, and the memories we’ve made on the lake as a family are priceless.” said Caroline Havey, Towne Lake resident.

Bordered by U.S. 290, West Road and Barker Cypress Road, Towne Lake is zoned to Cy-Fair ISD and is home to three on-site schools.

When a longtime Katy family decided to sell their prized hometown property north of I-10, their minds were set on a buyer who would imagine the next chapter for the former agricultural land, creating a source of pride for both the family and the City of Katy.

They envisioned a new kind of community of homes to emerge on the land, an early-1800s settlement known as Cane Island from those who described the breathtaking vista as an “island of sugar cane in the blowing wind.”

In 2016, that vision became a reality with the opening of the aptly named Cane Island, the masterplanned community within the boundaries of the City of Katy.

Cane Island features new homes by acclaimed builders, resort-style amenities including an on-site restaurant, immediate I-10 west access, Katy ISD schools, proximity to major west Houston employers and an abundance of nearby shopping, dining and entertainment.

Starting in the $280,000s, new, move-in ready homes feature island kitchens with butler’s pantries and morning rooms, secluded wine grottos, spacious family rooms, master suites, state-of-theart media rooms, game rooms and outdoor entertaining spaces. New homes also offer functional, yet inspiring home offices.

At Cane Quarter, residents enjoy a yoga studio with on-demand classes, a fully equipped, two-story fitness center, lap pool, lagoon-style family pool and cabanas, children’s water playground and central lawn, fireplace loft and The Oaks Kitchen &

Bar. Plus, a full-time on-site lifestyle director plans movie nights, outdoor concerts, seasonal shopping events and other community gatherings.

Students also receive a challenging, yet well-rounded education at Katy ISD’s Bryant Elementary School, Katy Junior High School and Katy High School, all in proximity to the community.

Go to CaneIsland.com and choose from one or more of the community’s builders for current incentives, virtual tours and private, in-person appointments.
