Picture perfect plan for images

Q: I like myi Phone and I like my Windows 10 PC. I also like automatically loading my iPhone pics to my computer. But they are impossible to organize. They do not land in a chronological order. Do you have any suggestions on how to efficiently load my iPhone photos to the PC in an organized and easily accessible way?

A: I have never been a fan of having photos imported automatically from my phone or my regular camera to my computer.

What I like to do is connect my phone or my camera’s SD card to my computer in a way that causes the computer to see these devices the same way it might see an external hard drive using File Explorer.

I then open the device and manually copy the images to a folder of my choosing.

The process for connecting your iPhone like an external hard drive is explained in the article at tinyurl.com/helplineiphonephotos.

Once you do that, it’s a simple matter of creating folders on your computer to help organize your photos.

Q: I am having a strange problem with Microsoft Word where it is locking up when I try to print from my home office. If I try to print at my regular office, there’s no problem. Any ideas on why this is happening?

A: I have seen this problem a few times and I have found that it is caused by how you have your default printer setup.

To fix this problem, open up the Control Panel and then go to Devices and Printers and locate the printer you will be using and right click it and select Set as default printer.

A more permanent fix would be to enable Windows to choose your default printer automatically.

To do this, click Start and select Settings and then type Printers and Scanners and hit Enter. At the bottom of this page put a check in the box next to Let Windows manage my default printer.
