Realtor is there for clients’ changing needs

Cathy Scherer, a Realtor with Bernstein Realty, is there for her clients throughout their lives for all their changing needs.

Scherer has been an agent for close to two decades and has many repeat clients.

“I am there for my clients as their abode needs change. For example, for first-time home buyers, and then I’m there as their need for more space due to their family growing, to empty nesters, and those interested in downsizing,” Scherer said.

She also works with rentals, apartments, relocation for those moving in and out of Houston, and singlefami­ly homes, etc. Scherer also has clients interested in high-rises, those wanting a lock-and-leave lifestyle, which condominiu­ms offer along with many other amenities.

Moreover, she knows Houston and the surroundin­g areas well.

“Because Bernstein Realty helps so many relocating, it has been important for me to learn all of Houston and the surroundin­g areas. Clients moving into Houston are looking in many different parts of the city and have different needs such as wanting great schools, close to work, or definite wants in their new home,” Scherer said.

Hailing from New York, she and her family were transferre­d to Houston due to her father working for a large oil company. She also has lived in different parts of the country.

Scherer graduated from the University of Texas with a major in business marketing, and worked in wholesale/retail and the clothing industry as a sales rep. This prior career honed many of her skills that help her real estate clients today, including marketing, communicat­ion, negotiatin­g skills, and others.

“When buying a home in Houston, the Realtor said I should be a Realtor, so I obtained my license and he became my mentor. When he sold his business, I worked at another top real estate company before joining Bernstein. I really enjoy the boutique style of Bernstein Realty,” Scherer said.

Known for sincerely caring for her clients and being a true people person, she easygoing, ethical, trustworth­y, and a nice person.

“I really enjoy getting to know my clients — they are all different with different wants, needs and goals. So, I always listen very carefully to them to completely understand what they are looking for,” she said.

Scherer personally provides top-rated customer service to her clients, and is available for them 24/7.

“They know they can always reach me. I’m here for them,” Scherer said.
