Six-game unbeaten streak ends for Dynamo in Dallas

Franco Jara and Andres Ricaurte scored to help FC Dallas beat the Dynamo 2-1 on Saturday night in Frisco.

Ricuarte scored his first MLS goal — in his second game — to open the scoring in the 28th minute.

Memo Rodriguez tied it for the Dynamo in the 41st, blasting a rising rightfoote­r into the corner of the net of a set piece.

Michael Barrios lofted a one-touch pass to Jara for a half-volley finish to make it 2-1 in the 61st minute.

The Dynamo (3-3-5) had their six-game unbeaten streak snapped and lost for the first time since a 2-1 defeat at Portland on July

18.

In other soccer news:

• Debinha scored twice, including the winner in the 86th minute, as North Carolina downed the visiting Dash 4-3 in a National Women’s Soccer League fall series match. Veronica Latsko, Kristie Mewis and Sophie Schmidt scored for the Dash.

• Gyasi Zardes scored in the 88th minute to help the MLS Eastern Conference-leading Columbus Crew tie the Chicago Fire 2-2.

• Aaron Long and Daniel Royer scored as the New York Red Bulls beat D.C. United 2-0 to snap a four-match winless streak.

• Anthony Fontana had his first multigoal MLS game, including the winner in stoppage time, as Philadelph­ia beat New England 2-1.

• Alexander Ring and Anton Tinnerholm scored in New York City FC’s 2-1 victory over FC Cincinnati.

Sanders to miss Eagles’ opener

Running back Miles

Sanders, the Eagles’ most potent offensive weapon, didn’t travel with the team for Sunday’s season-opener at Washington because of a hamstring injury.

Boston Scott is expected to start in his place. In other news:

• The Minnesota Vikings signed running back Dalvin Cook to a five-year,

$63 million contract extension with $28.2 million guaranteed.

• Saints running back Alvin Kamara agreed to a five-year extension worth up to $75 million, though the $25 million for the final year isn’t guaranteed.

• Receiver Cooper Kupp agreed to a threeyear contract extension through 2023 with the Rams.

• The San Francisco 49ers placed starting receiver Deebo Samuel on injured reserve. He’ll miss at least the season’s first three games.

Brad Keselowski led a race-high 192 of the 400 laps on his way to a win at Richmond, NASCAR’s second playoff race, and advanced to the second round.

• Will Power scored his first win of the season in the first race of an IndyCar doublehead­er at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington.

PRO BASKETBALL

Victory gives Aces a shot at top seed

A’ja Wilson had 19 points and eight rebounds as the Las Vegas Aces beat the Los Angeles Sparks 84-70 to clinch a top-two finish and a double-bye into the playoff semifinals.

The Aces (17-4) take on first-place Seattle (18-3) in a regular-season finale Sunday to try to secure the No. 1 seed. The Sparks (15-7) finished third.

In other WNBA games:

• Myisha Hines-Allen had 25 points and 11 rebounds to help Washington beat the New York Liberty 75-58, keeping the Mystics’ playoff hopes alive.

• Rachel Banham made seven 3-pointers and scored 29 points, both career highs, as the Minnesota Lynx completed their regular season in fourth place with a 98-86 victory over the Indiana Fever.
