Real estate is about people, about relationships, and about meeting the needs and goals of clients. Velvet Harris, a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, understands this, and it has built her reputation via referrals and repeat clients.
Harris has been in sales since she graduated from college. From such earlier positions, she honed her skills in carefully listening to buyers and sellers, researching details for required information, and going above and beyond to meet clients’ goals.
Harris’ 15 years of experience and knowledge in real estate, as well as staying updated on the market and trends, are what help her clients achieve their goals of finding their dream home or selling their current home for top dollar.
Her son, Jackson, 26, also works as her assistant and helps with marketing, organization, and document control.
Harris provides exemplary customer service to clients in all price points, which has led to her being an award-winning Realtor.
Some of these awards and honors include Emerald Elite 2018/2019, Top Producer/Top Listings 2018/ 2019, Platinum Award 2014/ 2016/2017, and a Top Listing Agent 2017/2019. However, what means the most to Harris is the satisfaction of her clients.
Since she was 22, she has bought and sold a number of homes, so she understands what her clients go through having been on both sides of the closing table. Her clients appreciate her personal experience as she guides them through their transactions.
“I love working with different people and different situations. Real estate is a great way to meet many great people. I love helping them achieve their different real estate goals,” Harris said.
She does not have one focus area and sells all over Houston and the surrounding areas. Many of her clients are interested around downtown and toward the north side.
Hailing from Little Rock, Arkansas, Harris has lived in Houston for close to 25 years. She has made her home in the Champions area for 20-plus years.
Harris is known for being outgoing, personal, organized, a sincere people person and focusing on her clients.
“I like to meet people and learn about their lifestyle, hobbies and interests,” she said. This information helps Harris know what community, neighborhood, or area would best serve their interests.
“Every client is different. Every transaction is different. And this keeps real estate exciting and rewarding,” she said.
