Second-generation Realtor focuses on Bay Oaks area in Clear Lake
Realtor Dan McCarver with Better Homes and Garden Real Estate Gary Greene is not only celebrating his 20th year with the company, but also has participated in 55% of the Bay Oaks sales for the last 12 months as a listing or selling agent.
McCarver, whose focus area is Bay Oaks in the Clear Lake area, has specialized in the neighborhood since 1998 and resides there. His approach is seller-centric with clients.
“Buyers are local residents looking for more work-at-home space or young families who may have grown up in the area and moving back, and also some corporate relocation,” said McCarver.
It’s a great time for those looking to find their dream home as Internet views of listings are up over 80% from 2019 due to COVID-19, he said.
“The record-low interest rates have had a positive effect on the local market. It has been the perfect storm combined with low inventory. It is a unique and interesting time to be in our business,” McCarver said.
McCarver’s 43-year real estate career is no surprise as he’s a second-generation agent. His mother, Barbara McCarver, was the first woman president of the Houston Real Estate Association in 1977.
Since he joined the business, McCarver, a Certified Negotiation Specialist, has been involved in multiple roles in the industry including relocation, management, and sales.
His recognition for his years of dedication and professionalism includes the top sales position in Bay Oaks since 1999, No. 1 in individual sales in BHGRE Gary Greene Bay Area office, and top sales companywide several times, most recently in 2018. He has received the BHGRE recognition of Emerald Elite and Million Dollar Guild of Institute of Luxury Real Estate Marketing.
His latest approach includes virtual tours and video, digital staging in vacant homes and integrated floor plans. Professional photography and staging are also key elements.
McCarver is inspired when working with buyers and sellers.
“Many times, I work with a second generation who may be buying their first home,” he said. “I am proud to be a second generation in this business, and while it has changed dramatically since I started, the basic principles are the same. It has been a rewarding experience.”
