This classic, Georgian-colonial River Oaks home, located at 2154 Inwood Drive, was designed by La Marque architect F. Perry Johnston for the original owner, J.L. White. It was renovated in 2005.

It was one of the last homes completed in River Oaks before private construction stopped for World War II. The home underwent an extensive renovation to incorporate today’s amenities without impacting the home’s provenance.

The 4,596-square-foot single-family home, which now has a guest suite over the garage, offers unique design elements such as neoclassical pendants, gas lanterns, hinged and operable Spanish cedar shutters and a mahogany front door with beveled glass and polished nickel.

The kitchen opens to the den and is equipped with stainless-steel appliances. The home’s spacious formal rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, extensive millwork and wainscoting and espresso-stained oak floors.

Other interior features include carpet, stone, tile and wood floors, a breakfast room, family room, formal dining room, formal living room, study/ library, in-house utility room, two staircases, owned alarm system, drapes/curtains/window cover, electric and gas dryer connections, washer connections, and woodburning fireplace.

The primary bathroom includes double sinks and a separate whirlpool/jetted tub and shower.

Outside, manicured gardens offer seasonal color, stone hardscape and a fountain.

Other exterior features include a circular driveway, automatic garage door opener, partially fenced backyard, covered patio/deck and sprinkler system.

Priced at $2,750,000, this four- or five-bedroom home with 5½ baths is listed by Amy Bernstein with Bernstein Realty.
