Born in Muskogee to Otto & Gaynelle Hine the same day as her best friend Virginia, Jerry was joyful & whip smart. She went to Baylor for 3 years before receiving a Bachelor’s in Science at Univ. of OK. In 1946, Jerry wed Lloyd Willard & had 2 daughters: Lee Ella & Emily Jane. They moved to Texas & lived in Galveston, Houston & Dallas. Jerry was working at Parkland Hospital the day of the JFK assassination, & often shared remembrances of that fateful day.

After Lloyd died in 1969, Jerry wed fellow scientist, Dr. George Jorgensen in 1970. They enjoyed more than 50 years together, & were very active with West U Baptist Church where Jerry worked for years as a financial secretary. She also performed with their Prime Time Singers, often as a soloist.
