Native Houstonian brings years of experience to clients
Realtor Elissa Kirkham with Greenwood King Properties began her career with this firm and has continued to rise throughout the industry with a strong portfolio with close to 14 years’ experience.
As a native Houstonian and graduate of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, Kirkham knows her area. Kirkham is also a Texas Tech University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies.
Her focus on properties is primarily throughout Memorial, the Inner Loop and the Heights.
She has also lived here her entire life in Houston except for leaving to attend Texas Tech.
“I have lived in all three of my focus areas, but currently live in Woodland Heights and have since 2014,” she said.
Kirkham, who was named Greenwood King’s Rising Star in 2020, was exposed to the housing industry, as her father was a home builder.
“My love for houses started at a very young age. I also love Houston and the unique character each neighborhood holds,” said Kirkham.
Starting in 2007 with Greenwood King Properties, Kirkham worked her way through the company, learning the ropes to gain perspective on all angles of the business. It began in the showing department, then followed through to the listing department.
With each step forward, Kirkham gained insight into mastering the intricate details and preparation for each property. After this, she served as assistant to three of the company’s top producers, and also as the office manager. In 2016, she joined the marketing department and excelled with innovative promotions and advertising strategies as well as digital marketing.
Now as an agent, Kirkham relies on her extensive experience to benefit her clients.
“I have always worked in the real estate industry but have taken on several different fields within it including real estate marketing,” she said.
Her personal traits, including giving her clients one on one support, enable Kirkham to give 100 percent attention to details, negotiating and more by being creative, eager, loyal and as a problemsolver. The thing that gives Kirkham a great sense of accomplishment is completing a task and exceeding her clients’ expectations.
“Because real estate is a business industry, I believe you have to be a good listener to be successful,” said Kirkham. “This is also a customer service industry, so being respectful and responsive is key.”
In her free time, Kirkham enjoys spending time with her family and close friends when not traveling.
