Early Thursday morning, February 11, 2021 Heaven opened its doors wide to welcome a new angel to her eternal home. Pam Harlan Riggs no longer has the pain of fighting multiple myeloma cancer. She is welcomed by those who preceded her in death, including son Jeffrey Harlan Riggs and, parents, William Andrew Harlan and, Clara Wanna Markham Harlan. Pam leaves her beloved husband of 54 years Larry Taylor Riggs, brother Charles “Newt Harlan, Humble, TX, sister Linda Gayle Dabill, Naples, FL and numerous nieces and nephew spread throughout the country.

Pam was born in Houston, TX on October 23, 1945, but spent her childhood in Humble, TX. She graduated from Humble High School in 1964 where she was head cheerleade­r and football homecoming queen. She received her Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University 1968. Pam was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, was voted Miss Greek, Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity sweetheart, and member of first president of Sig Ep’s Golden Hearts.

She received a Master of Education and Administra­tive Certificat­e form Stephen F. Austin University in 1979.

She was a teacher and education administra­tor for 34 years. Most of her career was with the Humble I.S.D., but also worked in the school districts of Madisonvil­le,

TX, Huntsville, TX, Spring Branch, TX, Greenville, MS, and Des Moines, IA.

Pam loved cooking, golf, travel and her many canine pets too numerous to list, but none more than the current MacGyver and Jack Flynn.

Her family has so many to thank who assisted in

Pam’s brave 8-year fight with Multiple Myeloma who we grew to love like family; Dr. Kelty Ruth Baker and her staff, the many personnel with Houston Methodist Hospital’s Walter Tower OPC Infusion, staff HMH at OPC and her wonderful Hospice nurse, Katie Walker.

As a result of the Covid-19 situation a Celebratio­n of Life will be planned in the spring of the year. Those that would like to donate in Pam’s name, please do so with the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
