Joseph (Joe) Magers, 85, joined his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2021. Joe was born in Marion, Indiana to Luther and Armelda Magers. Joe was the eleventh of eleven children.

He is survived by his dear wife, Sandra Magers, the love of his life, many friends, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded death by his parents, all of his siblings, and his son Jeffrey.

Joe was a proud graduate of Indiana University. While there, he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and remained friends with many of his fellow brothers his whole life. At Indiana University he rode on the Sigma Nu team in the Little 500 cycling race, being on the winning team two years. For his accomplish­ments in cycling, he is in the Indiana University Hall of Fame. He remained an avid fan of the Hoosier Basketball Team until the day he died.

Joe served in the United States Army for two years. While stationed in Germany, he played fullback on the Regimental Football Team, playing other teams throughout Europe.

Joe loved to travel. He and Sandy traveled the world, visiting at least forty six countries, sharing the thrill of seeing and experienci­ng new places and countries.

Joe owned and operated many businesses over his career. He loved having his own business and doing whatever he could to give a hand up to anyone who was willing to grasp it.
