HomeAid congratulates GHBA ‘Of the Year Award’ winners
HomeAid Houston, a 501(c)(3), is grateful to be able to work with many generous members of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), since the agency became the GHBA Charity of Choice 18 years ago. These partnerships have been key to HomeAid’s success as they work within their mission: To build new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.
Several of these organizations were honored recently at GHBA’s annual “Of the Year Awards” virtual event. These awards were presented to the various companies, based on building industry involvement, association participation and an overall commitment to continuing education within the field.
The 2020 Developer “Of the Year Award” winner was Travis Stone, with Airia Development Co. Stone is a long-time member and supporter of the GHBA.
The 2020 Volume Builder “Of the Year Award” was presented to Empire Communities, led by
James Mille. Empire Communities has been a great supporter of both the GHBA and HomeAid Houston.
Empire stepped up to the plate to take on the construction of an 8,100square-foot cottage in 2019-2020 for Boys and Girls Country in Hockley, a HomeAid charity project.
The 2020 Remodeler “Of the Year Award” winner was William Cole with Divine Renovation. Cole’s outstanding work and reputation, as well as his leadership as president of the Remodelers Council, has been a testament to his professionalism and his dedication to the home building and remodeling industries.
“The GHBA’s ‘Of the Year Awards’ honors the best in the building industry,” said Carole Brady, executive director of HomeAid. “We are proud to have so many of the event’s talented and generous companies and individuals on our team as we work together to help end homelessness in Houston. We congratulate all of the winners this year and thank our team for their dedication to the HomeAid cause.”
