MARTHA ELAINE WOODS DELEERY

1942-2021

Martha Elaine Deleery, age 78, of Spring, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Elaine was born September 25, 1942 in Houston, TX to Bill and Martha Woods. Elaine graduated from Jones High School and the University of Houston.

She met her best friend and the love of her life, Robert Deleery, in the ninth grade. They married on June 15h 1962 and made their home in Houston. They were blessed with three children and moved to Spring in 1973 to raise their family. Elaine helped guide countless students during her 37 years of teaching and loved every minute of it. The Klein ISD school board officially designated September 25, 2004 as Elaine Deleery Day in Klein in recognition of her service. She was also honored as Teacher of the Year in 2009.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Martha Woods and by her son Paul Deleery.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Deleery, her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Richard Wolf and daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Jeff Seldenrust.

Elaine is also survived by her grandchildren Zach and Jackie Seldenrust, Amanda and Cole Batsell, Kathryn Wolf, Allie and Adam

Buckley, and Jake Seldenrust; great-granddaughter, Madeline Seldenrust and her mother-in-law, Mildred Deleery.

Pallbearers include Richard Wolf, Jeff Seldenrust, Zach Seldenrust, Jake Seldenrust, Cole Batsell, Adam Buckley, and Will Deleery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the breast cancer charity of your choice.

A visitation for Elaine will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Angels, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

A graveside service follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
